• We’ll let your previous insurer know to cancel your policy.
• Any payments you’ve made in advance will be refunded by your previous insurer.

And if you join Defence Health within 60 days of leaving another fund you will have:

No waiting periods on equivalent cover

We recognise waiting periods that you have already served, so you can start using your cover immediately.

You’ll only need to serve waiting periods if you’re upgrading your cover, and the waiting period will only apply to the higher level of benefit.

Continuous cover

We’ll make sure that you are continuously covered so that there is no gap in your Lifetime Health Cover status. Subject to backdating your cover with us to the date of leaving your old fund.

It’s okay if you change your mind

If you decide that we are not quite right for you, let us know within 30 days of joining. As long as you haven’t made a claim, we’ll refund your premiums in full and cancel your membership.
